Bank of New Zealand deploys NCR Predictive Services

NCR Corporation announced the Bank of New Zealand (BNZ) deployed its “Predictive Services” to predict failures before they occur on bank ATM networks. Designed for self-service technologies such as ATMs and retail self-checkouts, “Predictive Services” allows BNZ to reduce the downtime of its ATMs by a third across its 450-strong ATM fleet. The NCR “Predictive Services” collects more than ten times the typical amount of operational data from the network, including from individual components within each ATM, such as the card reader, receipt printer and cash dispenser. NCR “Predictive Services” is deployed in thousands of self-checkout lanes and ATMs around the world.

Becky Shulman has been appointed Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer with Card Compliant to lead Card Compliant’s finance, accounting, operations and investor relations initiatives. Most recently having served as Managing Director and Deputy Chief Financial Officer for LPL Financial, the country’s largest independent broker-dealer, Shulman was also with H&R Block for ten years, serving as Chief Financial Officer from 2007-2010. USA Technologies Implements Two-Tier Cashless Payment Pricing

USA Technologies wireless, cashless payment and M2M telemetry solutions for small-ticket, self-serve retailing industries announced data from its customer Knowledge Base shows that its “Two-Tier Pricing Program.” Focused on moving the small-ticket industry to cashless payments, USAT’s “Two-Tier” customer base, showed greater sales activity in the two weeks after deployment of the “Two-Tier Pricing Program” than before. The program gives operators of small-ticket, unattended terminals like vending machines the ability to charge two different vend prices”the standard retail price for credit/debit transactions and a lower discounted price for cash purchases”allowing operators to offset the cost of card processing. An extension of USAT’s “ePort Connect” service offering, the “Two-Tier Pricing Program” operators have the ability to adjust prices by account or by machine, utilizing USAT’s over-the-air-update system.

U.S. Bank Launches Ace Rewards Visa iPhone App

Ace Hardware customers can now apply for an Ace Rewards Visa Credit Card with an iPhone application developed by U.S. Bank. Downloadable at the iTunes store, the new app gives customers the opportunity to apply for and receive immediate credit to start their shopping at participating Ace stores. It also lets customers apply for an Ace Rewards Visa Credit Card, giving qualified cardholders a virtual credit card via their iPhone. They simply hand their iPhone with the virtual card displayed to an Ace Associate at checkout. Cardholders earn Ace Rewards points, receiving up to 5% back at Ace, 2% back on gas and groceries and 1% back everywhere else Visa is accepted. Users earn up to 10% back on quarterly categories and, once 12,500 points are earned, receive a $25 Reward redeemable at participating Ace stores.
