USA Technologies is expanding its “ePort Connect” services to build on its cashless solutions and mobile, digital media and prepaid and loyalty program trends. The Company’s turn-key cashless and contactless payment and telemetry services to the small-ticket, self service retail industries through its “ePort Connect” service will be demonstrating the ability to offer and manage a Prepaid and Loyalty Program and add Interactive Media Services to their vending machines, kiosks and other unattended terminals. The Prepaid and Loyalty program is designed to allow users to offer its consumers a reloadable prepaid card and loyalty account that could be used to offer incentives for additional purchases and cash-back bonuses for loyal patrons. Neighborhood Pay Services forged agreements with Western Union global payment services to offer a Prepaid MasterCard to renters and will now offer the Western Union “MoneyWise” Prepaid MasterCard on its “Rent Assurance” payment platform. Encore M2M Cellular Router Certified For Cash Machines

Encore Networks announced EFX Corporation payment processor for ATMs, ACH and Card Issuing certified its C2C cellular-based remote access router to link ATMs to EFX’s data centers. A Machine-to-Machine (M2M) cellular data service replaces leased data circuits or dial-up analog lines at significantly lower cost while providing higher reliability and greater flexibility. The C2C encrypts messages using either Secure Socket Layer (SSL), the same method widely used in Web commerce, or the latest IPsec (IP Security) protocol. It contains a modem that behaves identically to the central-site modem that an ATM calls and offers many remote management and security features such as a firewall, address filtering, and alarms if equipment is changed or a line is disconnected.

NRF Advises FTC on mPayment Regulation

The National Retail Federation urged the Federal Trade Commission to move cautiously in establishing regulations for mobile payments, and said any rules that are adopted should parallel those for the underlying form of payment and not be specific to the technology.
