Sage Pay payment processor launched its “Sage Pay Mobile” mobile payment solution aimed at small businesses. This lets businesses accept card payments using their mobile phone to authorise transactions. The “Sage Pay Mobile” solution is a highly-secure, handheld terminal connects to a merchant’s smartphone via Bluetooth, and encrypts the data from a customer’s card at source, so the merchant and their phone never see the card details. American Express and First Data extend Acceptance Partnership

American Express and First Data Corporation extended their OnePoint program partnership, offering American Express Card acceptance as part of an integrated solution for small and medium-sized merchants. American Express created the American Express OnePoint program to offer small to medium-sized merchants a cost-effective and all-in-one solution that provides the convenience of a single source for statements, settlement and customer service for all major card brands. It ultimately allows third-party service agents to provide American Express payment processing services, while American Express retains the acceptance contract with participating merchants, establishes merchant pricing, and receives the same transactional information it does with direct servicing. First Data provides payment processing services to merchants on behalf of American Express for American Express Card transactions.

MasterCard Worldwide announced several NFC enabled smartphones have been certified for use with MasterCard PayPass technology.
