MasterCard Launches ISIC Card

Almost 65% of parents of college-aged young adults worry about their child’s ability to manage money while 40% believe their young adults will run out of money in the first month of college. Meanwhile, parents are concerned about their child’s ability to manage their credit ratings, coinciding with text alerts and freeze spending apparently helping parents feel more comfortable about their child’s ability to manage finances. In response to these findings, MasterCard is partnering with the International Student Identity Card Association (ISIC) to give students the identity benefits of the ISIC card. Cardholders are also entitled to more than 40,000 discounts and benefits in over 120 countries. By combining an ISIC card with a MasterCard branded payment card, students have access to services at every stage and aspect of their student life, providing them with easy and secure ways to manage their money, track spending and purchase goods at discounted prices – whether online or in store.

NCR Brings Expands Video Teller Services

FirstOntario Credit Union has deployed NCR APTRA Interactive Teller, letting customers to talk live to a remote teller at the ATM and giving access to branch services after the branch is closed. Two-way video conferencing integrated within the ATM lets FirstOntario’s members talk to and see a teller who can remotely drive the ATM transaction from a central location, guiding members through typical in-branch transaction via the ATM screen. Services offered include deposits, withdrawals, cheque cashing, loan payments, cash advances, and booking appointments with branch staff.

Everything Everywhere and MasterCard Partner on ePayments

MasterCard payment processor and Everything Everywhere communications company inked a five-year partnership to develop mobile and digital payment solutions for Everything Everywhere customers. The partnership will support the accelerated adoption of secure mobile payments by combining technology and financial assets, initially through a co-branded pre-paid solution for mobile devices that allows customers to make NFC payments at more than 100,000 retailers in the UK. Additionally, MasterCard and Everything Everywhere will expand its scope into person-to-person money transfers, loyalty rewards and digital payment services that will enable consumers to have the same simple shopping experience whether they’re paying in-store, online or using their mobile device.
