Xpress Money Launches D2Account Remittance

Xpress Money money transfer brand launched its direct account credit services to more than 30 countries across Europe, allowing users from 15 European countries t transfer money into their beneficiary’s bank accounts. Customers will be able to do direct transfer to accounts in more than 1500 banks in the region, and can also register multiple beneficiaries for the service. The countries where direct account credits are possible from include Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Norway Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and United Kingdom.

Fujitsu Wins Bid to Provide Bill Dispensers

Hermosillo has awarded Fujitsu the bid to furnish F50 bill dispensing units required by CFE, thanks to its compliance with the technical specification, pricing and country of origin requirements in the public bid. The F50 bill dispensing unit will be integrated into more than 1,000 CFE self-service utility bill payment kiosks, called CFEmaticos. The F50 bill dispensing unit, designed especially for the OEM channel, is a high-volume, single-denomination currency dispenser designed for integration into a number of applications and verticals. CFE began the rollout of their automated bill payment kiosks, including the F50 bill dispensing unit, to nearly 500 locations in December 2012.

Western Union Expands Services Through Retail Partner

Western Union global payment services signed an agreement with Carrefour Argentina to offer its global money transfer and bill payment services. Western Union is the first financial services provider to work with Carrefour in Argentina, a company with a presence in 22 of the 24 provinces throughout the country – complementing Western Union’s in-country network. The Western Union money-transfer and bill payment service is now available at select Carrefour locations with rollout plans to be implemented across 120 strategic Carrefour locations.

Western Union Expands Indian Rupee Payments

Western Union announced a new service that will make it easier for universities and higher education institutions around the world to accept tuition payments in Indian Rupee. Over 200,000 Indian students study abroad each year, whom are typically invoiced in the currency of their university (e.g. US or Canadian Dollar), which often makes the payment process cumbersome and expensive. In many cases, intermediary fees impact the final amount received by the university so the students still owe money before commencing their studies. Western Union’s new service will enable participating schools and universities to offer Indian students the option to pay tuition fees in their home currency. It will be offered by Weizmann Forex and Paul Merchants Limited, the two largest Western Union Agents in India.
