Ontario Systems has appointed Jay P. Moorman vice president of client services and W. Douglas Allgood was elected vice president of
research and development. Moorman previously served as Ontario Systems’
support services director and has worked for the software developer for
nearly 12 years. Allgood was most recently vice president of enterprise application services for Chemtura Corp. Aditionally, Brad Chenoweth, who most recently served as vice president of client services, was named vice president for the sales and marketing communications groups, returning to a group where he began his career at Ontario Systems.

CyberSource “Advanced Fraud Screen” enhanced by Visa to the
Canadian market. “Fraud Screen” provides fraud risk
prediction scores. It does so through behavioral scoring by assessing over
150 order variables such as Canadian and international address validation,
order frequency, and order history. Risk scores are typically calculated
in less than 2 seconds. The service is further enhanced by Visa’s Virtual
Intelligence Risk Technology, which provides ongoing model updates using
knowledge of global fraud trends and online and offline payment card usage
patterns to improve fraud detection accuracy for card-not-present

OH-based National City has launched a new comprehensive bank rewards program. Customers earn points for debit card, credit card, bill payment, check writing transactions as well as home equity or small business line of credit. The program enables small business owners to combine their business and consumer points into one account. Families also can accelerate accumulation of points by consolidating multiple accounts from one household. Additionally, customers can choose to accumulate points for larger rewards, with a four-year redemption window. Al Rajhi Bank has purchased 240 “Opteva” ATMs through Diebold’s business
partner in the Kingdom, Alhamrani Universal Company. Diebold’s Agilis
software will enable the integration of biometric technology in Opteva
terminals purchased by the bank. Diebold will manage the implementation
of 82 biometric terminals, providing overall development of the biometric
software solution, and will create a customized user interface in the
local language. The biometric units will be deployed at Social Security
offices throughout Saudi Arabia. The machines will allow 400,000 retirees
to access monthly retirement payments. The biometric technology will
replace the use of PINs for the authentication of identity.

The new “Indiatimes ICICI VISA” offers 10% cash-back on most online purchases made on the Indiatimes shopping portal. The card also produces 5% cash-back on air travel tickets sold via the Indiatimes shopping portal. Additionally, cardholders are eligible for discounts up to 40% on certain Indiatimes purchases. Furthermore, cardholders earn four reward points for every Rs 200 spent at Indiatimes. The points are redeemable for purchases on the shopping Web site. Indiatimes has set up a special section on its Web site, called “ShopMore” which is for the exclusive use of “Indiatimes ICICI VISA” cardholders. After testing the new Pay By Touch biometric payment system in Portland, Oregon for a year, Albertson’s has decided to expand its deployment of the biometric payment systems in its Jewel-Osco stores throughout the Midwest. The rollout began in the Chicago area early this year and is expected to be completed in all 204 Jewel-Osco stores this month. To date, Pay By Touch has more than 2.3 million shoppers using biometric authentication products and services at more than 2,000 locations nationwide. Last month the Company landed its first merchant in Alabama.
