Chicago-based Rewards Network’s frequent flyer members who have achieved “Elite” status based upon their dining activity in the various Rewards Network programs will receive an additional five miles per qualified dollar spent for a total of ten miles per dollar through December 31st, 2007 and “Priority Club Rewards Dining” members with “Elite” status receive an additional eight hotel points per qualified dollar spent for a total of sixteen points per dollar through December 31, 2007. Membership in each of these dining programs managed by Rewards Network is free. CCB Orders 900 More Wincor Nixdorf ATMs

China Construction Bank has awarded Wincor Nixdorf a follow-up contract for 900 ATMs to expand its existing network. Wincor Nixdorf will assume responsibility for servicing the machines. The present order includes “ProCash 2000xe,” “ProCash 2050xe” and “ProCash 2150xe” systems. The solution package also contains software that will allow the
operation of the systems in the network to be monitored online. In a
first step, this software will be implemented for a group of 350 systems
that includes ATMs from other vendors.

POSB Orders Diebold Opteva Cash Dispensers

Postal Savings and Remittance Bureau, one of the country’s fastest-growing national ATM networks, has inked a contract to deploy more than 300 Diebold “Opteva” cash dispensers running on “Agilis” software. With a growing network of more than 6,000 ATMs dispersed throughout 36,000 business outlets, POSB serves approximately 270 million customers and is now China’s fifth largest financial service provider. Diebold also recently secured a contract to deliver 1,200 ATMs to China Construction Bank, and another agreement to deliver nearly 300 self-service Bulk Cash Recycle Machines to the Bank of China.

VISA International Names a New GC

VISA International has promoted Thomas M’Guinness as general counsel and corporate secretary, effective October 1st. From 2002 to 2004, he was EVP, general counsel and CFO for VISA’s Latin America and Caribbean Region, and is currently the deputy general counsel for VISA International. He first joined VISA in 1997 as staff counsel. M’Guinness is replacing Guy Rounsaville who leaves Visa at the end of the month.

Lipman Shareholders Approve the VeriFone Merger

Lipman Electronic Engineering shareholders voted to
approve, adopt and ratify the merger agreement with VeriFone Holdings. The shareholders also agreed to approve the merger of a VeriFone subsidiary with Lipman, so that Lipman would become a wholly-owned subsidiary of VeriFone. On April 10th, VeriFone and Lipman announced the signing of the merger agreement. The merger is expected to be completed on November 1st.

Tyan/AMD/Seagate Combo Hits Hi-Speed

According to tests conducted by Neal Nelson & Associates, a Tyan mid-tower server using “AMD Opteron” processors and “Seagate Cheetah” disk drives processed over 17,000 transactions per minute at a cost of $0.18 per transaction per minute. The test system included a Tyan S2881 motherboard, two AMD Opteron processors Model 256 with two Seagate Cheetah 15,000 RPM Ultra 320 SCSI disk drives.
