PPISC and Secret Service Meet on Breaches

The Processor Information Sharing Council met with Homeland Security law enforcement entities to focus on data breaches.
Member firms are improving defense strategies against new attack vectors.
During and immediately following the meeting, PPISC members
shared threat data and received the most recent attack signatures from
both a Qualified Incident Response Assessor (QIRA) and law enforcement.
The group also learned about the latest threat intelligence information
from a major private sector firm specializing in that space and received
a confidential law enforcement update on the status of investigations
against the most prominent threat actors.? The PPISC is a specially
focused subgroup of the Financial Services Information Sharing and
Analysis Center (FS-ISAC), the leading industry venue for confidential
information sharing and collaboration on critical security threats
facing the financial services sector. PPISC
member companies now include 12 of the top 15 merchant acquirers and
represent more than 75% of all electronic payment transaction volumes
processed in the nation today. Membership in the PPISC is open to credit and debit card payments
processors owned and operated by depository financial institutions and
third-party processors that conduct their activities in concert with
FS-ISAC’s operating rules.

generated total revenues of $59.6 billion in 2008, i Brands Corporation
has implemented joint venture negotiations with a marketing firm for the
deployment of the i Brands’ “Online Ordering System.” Approximately 58%
of total restaurant sales ($34.6 billion) were “take-out” orders

customer pays the company a percentage of each order processed through
its online ordering system. A 1% market share of the North America
market translates into a potential 452,000,000 orders annually through

RENESAS WAVE

Renesas Technology and the city of Changchun, China have jointly carried
out a successful verification test of the world’s first commercial ITS
using public buses in the city throughout September. Renesas provided
the WAVE terminal platform that implements WAVE wireless communication
technology and confirmed the realization of WAVE communication used in
public buses. There are many efforts underway globally to implement ITS
that connect vehicles and the roads they drive on with a network to
resolve road and transportation problems such as traffic jams and road
accidents. Renesas developed the WAVE evaluation system in 2008 and has
participated in ITS verification testing at many locations.
Subsequently, according to Renesas, the WAVE technology will be able to
apply to safety monitoring of roads and public transportation systems.

the “wGift” enhanced gift card program.
Transaction Wireless’ wGift will allow AMC’s guests to customize their

messaging, including text, recorded audio messages and images, delivered
to the recipient in real-time or at a specific time and date in the
