U.S. Bank Multi Service Aviation is now issuing the “Multi-Service Aviation Card” for general aviation usage. Lauded as the best aviation fuel card in the industry by Professional Pilot in its 2009 Preferences Regarding Aviation Services and Equipment (PRASE) awards, the Multi Service Aviation card provides its users with customized billing, free online account maintenance and savings on fuel. In addition, the Multi Service Aviation Card delivers value to merchants through account flexibility, free business promotion, competitive card processing, and fast transaction authorization and settlement.
The card, used to pay for fuel, maintenance and other aviation services, is accepted by 7,500 aviation service providers in more than 190 countries. In Australia, the cards will be issued through Elavon Financial Services Limited, part of U.S. Bancorp, parent company of U.S. Bank Multi Service Aviation.

Smart Card Alliance Set to Offer CSCIP Prep and Exam

The Smart Card
Alliance’s LEAP program is offering its next Certified Smart Card Industry
Professional (CSCIP) preparation course and exam to be held at its 2010
Annual Conference in Scottsdale, AZ in May. The CSCIP program provides the experienced smart card industry
professional a path to be accredited as a Certified Smart Card Industry
Professional, which includes an exam that requires demonstrated
proficiency in a broad body of industry knowledge.
The Alliance is now offering a 2-day training and certification package
for organizations looking to more broadly expand their employees’ smart
card expertise. With the package, the Smart Card Alliance brings CSCIP
certification right to a company’s facility. The first day includes a
training and preparation workshop for the CSCIP exam, with the exam held
the second day. The 2010 exam schedule and expansion announcements come as the Alliance’s LEAP program
and CSCIP exam moves into its second year. Participation in the U.S.
program has been strong, with 70 industry professionals joining the
program and 16 earning their CSCIP designation.

EASTER 2010

Barclaycard Global Payment Acceptance reports that debit and credit card spending for Easter was up 8.5% as shoppers spent £205.5m in 2010 compared to £189.4m over the same weekend in 2009. Eating out was a popular choice with restaurants seeing a 13% increase
in turnover on debit and credit cards compared to 2009. Other winners
over the weekend included furniture and floor covering stores with
spending up at 16.5% and 21.6% respectively. However DIY stores, a
traditional beneficiary of the Easter weekend saw card spending staying
flat with a slight increase of 1.5% on card spend compared to 2009.

Blue Bamboo Launches MFi Mobile Bluetooth Payment App
