Dynamics Card 2.0 Technology Awarded by Finovate

Dynamics next-generation payment devices was awarded Best of Show at the FinovateFall 2010 conference. Showcasing innovations in financial and banking technology, the event featured the Dynamics “Redemption” device in a card form-factor, allowing consumers to redeem reward points or cash rewards with the push of a button at the time of checkout. Also, Dynamics announced its partnership with Citi and demonstrated Citi’s “2G” credit cards based on Dynamics’ “Card 2.0” technology. In November, Citi will expand the pilot of its second generation credit cards to additional Citi card customers in the form of the Citi PremierPass 2G and Citi Dividend 2G cards.

Blaze Mobile Launches iPhone Payment App

Blaze Mobile mobile payment solutions launched its “Blaze Mobile Wallet 2.0” application for iPhone as a free download available in the Apple App Store. The app features a new social feature called “check out” to allow consumers to share their purchases on Facebook. The new Facebook features complement the popularity of consumers “checking in” and sharing location and purchase information with friends. After a purchase is made with any card linked to the Blaze Mobile Wallet, consumers can click on the Facebook icon within the Blaze app, which will automatically generate a customizable message listing the merchant and date of purchase. 50% of Young Consumers Financially Stressed

The number of consumers feeling the pinch when it comes to their personal finances rose for the sixth consecutive month to a nine-month peak in September to 49%, compared to just 43% in April. This, according to the Discover U.S. “Spending Monitor,” most showed the decline in economic confidence was most prevalent among younger consumers, ages 18-39, wherein a full 50% of consumers expressed financial concern for a 4-point increase over last month while 47% said their finances were getting worse, a 3-point increase over the previous month. Overall, the “Spending Monitor” dropped just 0.5 points to 85.7. This is compiled from findings showing 57% of consumers rate the economy as poor, unchanged from August; 51% felt economic conditions were getting worse, 1 point higher month-over-month; 20% plan to spend more in the next 30 days, 1 point higher than last month; 48% plan to spend less on going out to dinner or the movies, unchanged from August; 50% plan to spend less on home improvements, 2 points higher than August and the highest since January; and 48% plan to spend less on a vacation or gym membership, 3 points higher than July.

USA Tech Fiscal 1Q Processes 14mm Transactions

USA Technologies wireless non-cash transaction network throughout its 1Q
ended September 30 processed for its customers nearly 14 million
transactions for a total of $24.5 million, up year-over-year 89% and 68%
respectively. The Company also has slightly over 1,200 customers
connected to its ePort Connect Service, up from the 1050 in the quarter
ended June 30, for which it is expanding feature set and functionality.
Improved functions are to include faster transaction times; more
efficient transfer of customers’ operational, or DEX (Data Exchange)
data, over the ePort Connect network; improved efficiency and
versatility of the USALive online reporting function through increased
speed and the ability for customers to create and automate custom
reports from their own locations; increased server capacity to enable
continued expansion; and an online ordering and contracts system for
faster and more convenient processing of orders and contracts. This comes
on the heals of the latest reports disclosing the Company saw an August
2010 small-ticket transaction volume of $8.3 million, putting the Company
on an annualized run rate of approximately $100 million. This is an increase
of 72% versus August 2009 through its ePort cashless payment systems for
vending machines, kiosks and other unattended POS terminals while total
transactions processed hit 4.6 million, an increase of 98% over total
transactions processed in August 2009. On September 2, 2010 USA Tech reached
a record of over 200,000 transactions processed in a single day on its ePort
Connect Service through its nearly 82,000 connections on its service versus
52,000 connections as of June 30. With this momentum, the hopes to have
100,000 devices connected to its network by December 31 for a positive
EBITDA(CF Library 2010/09/14).
