Fiserv Delivers to Borrowers Self-Service Loan Management

Fiserv has made available to its client lenders two high-demand self-service channels with its “LoanServ” solution. Enhancing borrower relationships, “LoanServ: LoanLink” from Fiserv gives users access to update their loan information in real-time on the Internet or iPhone/iPad app. The “LoanLink” service provides lenders a self-service channel to reduce the volume on other channels and allows them to customize the module to address the specific needs. These include account cross referencing; loan payments; payoff requests; payment histories; address and contact information updates; customer financial information; and information about loan modification and alternate options.

Bank of America Amends Results for FIA Card Services

Bank of America has amended previously filed call reports for 2009 and 2010 for its FIA Card Services subsidiary thanks to changes to processes covering legal entities implemented in 2010. The amendment covers all eight quarterly periods from 2009 and 2010 and is in call reports filed with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the FDIC, is thanks to a deteriorating credit quality and the adverse impact from The CARD Act on Bank of America’s credit card operations in 2009. It involves a non-cash, non-tax deductible charge related to a $20.3 billion goodwill impairment at FIA, which has now been recorded for that legal entity for the first half of 2009. Included in the amended call reports was the reversal of a $10.4 billion writedown of goodwill taken at FIA during 2010. Bank of America recorded a $10.4 billion impairment in the carrying value of the goodwill of Global Card Services in the third quarter of 2010 as previously reported.

Fiserv Delivers Discover E-Bills

Discover Financial Services is now offering electronic bills through the more than 3,000 banks and credit unions in the Fiserv bill payment network. Cardmembers who pay their Discover bill online at their financial institution website will see an icon notifying them that a paperless, electronic version of their bill is now available at that site, and will be able to sign up for the service immediately. According to the 2010 Fiserv Billing Household Survey, e-bill recipients are more satisfied with, and loyal to, both the company that sends the bill and the financial institution where it is received. Thirty-seven percent of those who received e-bills at a financial institution website stated that e-bills improved their relationship with the company from which they received the bill, and 33 percent indicated paperless billing made them less likely to switch to a competitor.

Solvport expands services to NCR and Diebold ATMs

Solvport outsourced, off-premises ATM and kiosk services is now providing support for NCR and Diebold ATMs, to which it has expanded its field service, technical call center and replacement parts. The new service offering includes first- and second-line two, four, eight and 12-hour response times for field service. Solvport also will provide 24/7 call center support to meet almost any service level requirement. Customers also have real-time access through the company’s Solview 3.0 website and Solview mobile smart phone application. This service provides updates for call dispatch and completion times, visibility of the number of ATMs currently under contract, customer invoices, service call response and repair times.

Moneycorp Launches Global Payment Service

Moneycorp has introduced its “PayCollect” global online payment request service. The service is aimed at business associations, auction houses & estate agents to overseas property developers and golf clubs, who need to request and collect money from clients based overseas. The secure service that enables corporate entities and individuals to access commercial rates of exchange and significantly lower transaction fees than those offered by the majority of alternative systems. An individual or company completing an overseas payment through a bank could face a transaction fee of up to GBP40 in addition to poor rates of foreign exchange. However, the Moneycorp PayCollect service limits any charges and provides competitive foreign exchange rates. The service enables the payer (requesting payment) to make an online payment using a credit or debit card which not only allows them to settle their invoices instantly but save them money.
