CyberSource Corporation from Visa has partnered with Litle & Co. to offer its “Decision Manager” as the preferred fraud detection solution the latter’s portfolio of eCommerce merchants. CyberSource Decision Manager includes the world’s largest fraud detection radar — data insight derived from the over 60 billion transactions processed annually by Visa and CyberSource, supplemented by 200 validation and correlation tests — to help merchants make faster, more accurate order acceptance decisions. CyberSource’s Decision Manager allows merchants to automatically assess the validity of inbound orders, which- when received-simultaneously correlates attributes of that order against the data, device insights and validation tests generated from transactions processed by Visa and CyberSource.

Gemalto’s Cinterion cellular machine-to-machine (M2M) communication modules is launching the “MC55i-W” wireless M2M module. The new module integrates an advanced 65 nanometer chipset with reduced power consumption and enhanced operating temperature ranges for reliable, anytime, anywhere wireless communications. Available starting April 2011 and ideal for quite a number of M2M applications including secure remote monitoring, vending, and metering, the MC55i-W is compatible with previous MC55/56/55i modules and offers Full Type Approval and pre-approval by the largest global mobile network operators to enable a swift time to market for customers. NH-based Bellwether Community Credit Union has deployed NCR “APTRA” Mobile Banking to offer its members convenience. The credit union already uses NCR “APTRA” Online Banking solution and will now provide members with access to mobile, online and ATM account access. The real-time convenience of mobile banking gives consumers the control they demand from their banks. In fact, according to NCR Buzzback research, 79 percent of U.S. consumers would choose one financial institution over another based on the ability to better control when and how they bank. While globally, 26 percent of consumers said that they have changed financial institutions at least once in the past five years in order to gain access to mobile banking services.

Scotiabank is making available the Visa “payWave” contactless payment feature to its line of credit cards. Visa “payWave” transactions make small purchases faster and easier, reducing the amount of time customers spend at the checkout. Visa payWave is a no-fee enhancement which is now available on select Scotiabank credit cards, including ScotiaGold Passport Visa, Scotia Momentum Visa and SCENE Visa. Scotiabank cardholders will now be able to make secure contactless transactions at Petro-Canada, Rexall Pharma Plus pharmacies, Cineplex Entertainment movie theatres, Jean Coutu, Rabba Fine Foods, M&M Meat Shops, Second Cup, as well as other retailers.

Micropross Testing Earns EMVCo Approval

Micropross “Must” Card Level 1 electrical test tool has passed the approval scheme defined by the EMVCo organization and been qualified by the CAWG (Card Approval Working Group). With “Must,” smartcard manufacturers cover all electrical test cases defined inside the EMVCo test specification. The test hardware that is used is the Micropross MP300 TC3. It is possible to add on top of the electrical test certified protocol test cases, making the “Must” platform a complete test environment for Level 1 characterisation of contact smartcards.

T-Mobile USA and UK-based Everything Everywhere communications company have partnered with Giesecke & Devrient (G&D) to develop a multi-mode international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI) SIM. Designed for cost-effective international machine-to-machine (M2M) deployment, the multi-mode solution will act as a local SIM when deployed in the U.S. and the UK. Wincor Nixdorf Oversees Kreissparkasse Peine Self-Service Operation

Wincor Nixdorf has been awarded a contract by Kreissparkasse Peine to take charge of operating its 118 self-service systems at 23 branches for a period of ten years.
