Prepaid Card Holdings, a provider of financial services in the prepaid debit card industry, has changed its name to PrepaYd, Inc. and notified FINRA of the corporate action. FINRA subsequently notified the company’s name change took effect on May 12th. The purpose of the name change is to match the Company’s new brand, “PrepaYd”, and to reflect the expansion of the Company’s business plan to provide additional prepaid products besides prepaid debit cards. PrepaYd offers prepaid debit cards to America’s estimated 60 million underbanked citizens.

Travelex deploys Alaric’s payments fraud detection

Alaric international fraud prevention and payments software provider announced Travelex foreign exchange company has deployed Alaric’s ‘Fractals’ payments fraud detection platform in Sydney. Travelex’s Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) service permits international cardholders to be charged in their local currency when purchasing goods and services. VeriFone And Hypercom Comment DOJ Civil Complaint

VeriFone Systems and Hypercom Corporation commented on the civil antitrust lawsuit filed by the United States Department of Justice (“DOJ”) against VeriFone and Hypercom. In an effort to resolve potential antitrust issues with the merger, Hypercom announced on April 4, 2011, that it had entered into an agreement to sell its U.S. point-of-sale terminal business to Ingenico S.A. To better understand the DOJ concerns and assess various options for the planned divestiture of Hypercom’s U.S. business, including the possibility of a divestiture to an alternative buyer, the companies will work with the department to clarify intentions, upon which the companies hope for completed merger in 2H/11.
