The hybrid call center directs targeted call traffic during normal business and peak hours to its own call center. The decision was partly based on the company’s belief it has reached the critical customer mass necessary to economically offer an in-house call center, as well as the company’s intention to turn a necessary cost of doing business into a revenue generating division.

Alaric deploys card fraud prevention to Cal

Cal (Israel Credit Cards) card issuer and acquirer selected Alaric’s Authentic and Fractals advanced payments products for its Safe (Switch Authorizations Fraud Enterprise) transformation project. MasterCard Debuts NFC wristbands, Met with Approval

MasterCard “PayPass” commissioned the country debut of its prepaid contactless wristbandsat the 2011 Isle of Wight Festival. The festival goers preferred the wristbands to any other payment method on offer thanks to transaction speed (96%) and ease of use (98%) when compared to credit or debit cards. Also 87% agreed it was faster than paying by cash while an entire 100% said they’d want to use the PayPass prepaid wristbands again to pay at other festivals, concerts and sporting events. Gemalto and Orange Group Partner on NFC Mobile Contactless Program

PTK Centertel is deploying the largest NFC program through Gemalto digital security with a commercial offer targeting several thousand users. This new initiative reinforces Gemalto’s active role in Orange Group’s NFC expansion strategy with deployments already in the UK, France and now Poland. This is the first commercial NFC pilot in the country, brings PTK Centertel’s customers the convenience of using their mobile phone to securely pay for goods and services at a wave of their handset. JCB and China UnionPay Strengthen Alliance

JCB signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on June 10, 2011 to expand their current strategic relationship and to develop potential new areas of cooperation. The new alliance envisioned by the MOU will emphasize further strategic alliance in various fields and regions building win-win relationship in the long-term, with the aim of providing new value and products to enhance convenience for customers. The partnership between JCB and UnionPay began in 2003 when JCB and UnionPay signed a merchant acquiring agreement which enabled JCB card acceptance in China. In 2006, JCB started facilitating UnionPay card acceptance on JCB’s ATM network in Japan, followed by the launch of merchant acquiring operations in Japan last year aiming to increase the level of convenience for UnionPay cardholders.
