Zoho announced a PayPal option for its “Zoho Creator” online database and forms software. This Payment Module allows users to accept payments and donations directly within their Zoho Creator applications via PayPal. Zoho also announced organizational and domain level sharing and Google Docs (Forms) Import options for Zoho Creator. Zoho Creator lets users quickly and easily build custom business applications. With its drag-and-drop UI, users can automate business processes with custom workflow; collect data, analyze and generate reports; set email notifications and schedule tasks; collaborate with team members and clients; and more. Along with the new Payment Module, it now features Organization and Domain Level Sharing and Import Google Docs (Forms) Import.

Diebold Eases Bank’s Regulatory Compliance

As Community Trust Bank prepares to celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2012, the financial institution is updating its ATM fleet and outsourcing various financial services to ensure compliance and improve consumer experiences at the ATM. Diebold will help the bank better manage, monitor and secure its ATM fleet by providing multiple solutions from its integrated services portfolio. In addition, Diebold will revamp Community Trust Bank’s 53 ATMs to enhance the institution’s century-old presence in the southern United States. This development is subsequent to new regulations in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Payment Card Industry (PCI), which Diebold is to facilitate, replacing 25 of Community Trust Bank’s ATMs with its “Opteva” terminals and upgrading the institution’s other 28 ATMs. The Bank will also utilize Diebold’s “Agilis Campaign Office” software to push marketing content to its ATM fleet.

Standard Bank Makes Available Ukash Network

Ukash Global eMoney Network announced Standard Bank internet banking account holders will now be able to buy Ukash vouchers directly from their accounts, enabling them to shop online without revealing personal details. Standard Bank customer banking solutions offers the Autopay system that enables its account holders to pay online for goods and services directly from a linked account. Now enabling Ukash, Standard Bank’s Autopay allows consumers in South Africa to shop and pay online with “cash” wherever Ukash vouchers are accepted.

NYCE & China’s UnionPay Cross-Network

NYCE signed an agreement with China UnionPay bankcard association to allow cardholders reciprocal access to ATMs in both networks. NYCE Payments Network is a leading U.S. electronic payments network and an FIS company. The reciprocal agreement will allow participating NYCE ATM cardholders to conduct ATM withdrawals and balance inquiries in China. In addition, more than 2.6 billion UnionPay cards will have access to the more than 360,000 NYCE network ATMs. NYCE and UnionPay will work together to create future opportunities for extended payment services for their respective cardholders. NYCE delivers its clients real-time fraud monitoring and management, text and mobile banking applications, Internet debit and person-to-person (P2P) payment capabilities.

DirectCash Payments Sees Gross Profits Up 9% Y/Y

DirectCash Payments announced consolidated financial results for1H/11, during which it experienced increased Gross Profits 9% to $14.0 million; funds from operations payout ratio reduced to 54% from 85%; and an increased ATM network bringing the total number of active ATMs to 7,892. Furthermore, ATM transactions increased during the three and six months ended June 30, 2011 compared to the prior year due to the increased number of ATMs deployed. The increase in transactions relates primarily to the acquisition of Cashline Inc. which was a quality portfolio of ATMs that produced higher transaction volumes than the average ATM in Canada. Based on statistics provided by Interac, ATM transactions in the Canadian industry as a whole continued their historical decline on a per ATM basis.

Global Cash Access 2Q/11 Revenue Drops 14% Y/Y

Global Cash Access posted its 2Q/11 revenue down 14.1% to $135.1 million, from the year ago figure of $157.2 million, due in great part to having lost its largest customer in late 2010 which accounted for approximately $21.3 million in revenue during the second quarter of 2010. Meanwhile, operating income was $7.1 millionas GCA incurred approximately $1.6 million in one-time expenses in the quarter, consisting primarily of $1.2 million in one-time charges associated with additional depreciation and amortization expense associated with the final purchase price allocation of the acquisition of Western Money Systems in 2010 and approximately $0.4 million associated with executive severance costs. Income before tax in the second quarter of 2011 was $2.5 million, which included the one-time charges discussed above. With this, the Company estimates that cash earnings per share for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2011 will be between approximately $0.38 and $0.43.

HSBC to Sell Its Card and Retail Services to Capital One

HSBC has agreed to sell its card and retail services business in the United States to Capital One, which consists of HSBC’s monoline US credit card and private label credit card business. Included in the sale are the Business’s MasterCard, Visa, private label and other credit card operations. The products of the Business are offered throughout the United States primarily via strategic affinity and co-branding relationships, merchant relationships, direct mail and via the internet. All HSBC employees in the Business will be offered the opportunity to join the Purchaser. The Business to be sold however does not include HSBC Bank USA’s US$1.1bn credit card program. The Business being sold has performed strongly through the financial cycle but it is not aligned with HSBC Group strategy.
