RDA Microelectronics Intros New Antenna Switch

RDA Microelectronics fabless semiconductor company has introduced its single-pole, nine-throw antenna switch with an integrated logic decoder, low pass filters in a single die solution (SP9T) using IBM’s Silicon-On-Insulator (SOI) process. The SOI-based process offers superior performance and significant cost reduction compared to GaAS alternatives. The RDASW91 is a single-pole, nine-throw SP9T antenna switch packaged in a compact 2.5×2.5 millimeter, 16-pin land grid array (LGA). This low-cost switch has six GSM channel ports and three UMTS channel ports suitable for use in the fast growing multiband 3G handset.

USA Technologies Sees Record July Transactions & Volume

USA Technologies cashless payment and M2M telemetry solutions for self-serve retailing industries added approximately 4,000 new connections during July 2011 and added 105 new customers to its ePort Connect Service. With this, USA Technologies is boasting a total of 123,000 connections and 2,079 customers, making this the fastest start to a fiscal year for the Company in three years. Lexcel Deploys Auto-Network Testing to Curb Durbin Costs

Lexcel Solutions debit payment testing applications for the financial industry will aid debit card issuers and marketplace payment providers following the recent rules enacted by the Durbin Amendment. These require banks with assets of $10 billion or larger to certify with two unaffiliated debit card networks by October 1 and issuing banks time, effort and resources to accomplish the certification process. The fee cap of 21 cents per debit transaction shines on Lexcel’s value in controlling network connectivity costs. To assist in this effort, Lexcel has updated its Lexcel Network Simulator with all payment network rules and transaction types to accommodate automated debit network testing demands and reduce the time to certify and connect with additional networks.

American Express and Sprint announced a new program offering mail-in rebates via prepaid reward cards. Customers who purchase a Sprint phone and are eligible for a rebate will receive the mail-in rebate via prepaid reward card. The American Express Prepaid Reward Card can then be used at millions of U.S. locations that accept American Express Cards. This ensures faster rebate processing, immediate access to funds and no fees for activation, balance inquiries or customer service. Once the Sprint customer receives the prepaid reward card, the customer can immediately activate and use the card. The Card has no fees until six months after issuance, when a $3 monthly fee applies.
