Prime Factors Touches on Tokenization Guidance

Prime Factors has released its white paper on how tokenization reduces the cost of PCI compliance and provides guidance the PCI Council failed to provide in its guidelines for tokenization. Prime Factors sponsored the white paper, authored by Adrian Lane of the data security analyst firm Securosis. Titled, “Tokenization Guidance: How to reduce PCI compliance costs,” it is available as a free download on the Prime Factors website. GAO RFID Asset Tracking launched its advanced high frequency RFID reader writer, an ideal solution for integration into POS systems where multiple tag reads for long sequences of items are required such as jewellery applications, laundry management and document tracking. This compact RFID interrogator, model 233004, operates at 13.56 MHz and is certified for CE and FCC. It is compliant with ISO 15693 standard for vicinity transponders and is capable of reading multiple tags simultaneously from a maximum distance of up to 30 cm. The smart reader/writer communicates with a computer via an RS232 interface for data exchange and offers 3 LEDs for efficient status indication.

Chase to add 800 ATMs with ampm in 5 Western States

Chase is expanding its nationwide network of ATMs with approximately 800 locations in ARCO-branded ampm locations in California as well as Washington, Arizona, Oregon and Nevada. About 75% of the expansion will be in California, bringing the total number of Chase ATMs in California to nearly 4,000. The new Chase ATMs began arriving in participating ampm stores in late November, and most will be installed by the end of March 2012.

FleetCor Acquires Fuel Card Company for $304mm

FleetCor Technologies fuel cards and specialized payment products acquired AllStar Business Solutions Limited (“AllStar”) from The Arval Group (“Arval”) for £194 million (approximately $304 million). AllStar’s fuel cards permit fleet operators to provide their company drivers with a payment card to fuel their vehicles securely without having the need to pay with cash or personal credit cards. AllStar has approximately 40 thousand customers and about one million cardholders, serving business clients directly and strategic partners like Arval leasing who in turn serve their customers.

MediaMath Transactions Through the Roof

MediaMath announced the number of transactions it handles in the Asia Pacific region has increased to more than six billion impressions a day, having expanded its footprint worldwide to more than 20 billion daily impressions. MediaMath’s business received a boost with the recent opening of its data center in Hong Kong. The company processes impressions at more than 350 queries per second. MediaMath now operates a total of six data centers worldwide in North Bergen, N.J.; Chicago; Palo Alto, Calif.; Zurich; Paris; and Hong Kong. In conjunction, MediaMath is also partnering with Tokyo-based CyberAgent, offering their TerminalOne online media buying platform to their clients to optimize the effectiveness and cost of their digital branding and direct response campaigns.
