Ingenico Awarded Kiabi Retailer Deal

Ingenico payment solutions inked a three year agreement with Kiabi for the management of its card transactions, which will be operated through Axis, the Ingenico platform and “iPP320.” Ingenico provided Axis, its centralized payment management platform which secures all payment types, in full compliance with the latest EMV and PCI DSS rules. Ingenico is the single end-to-end solution provider, managing the in-store installation process and full payment service within a single consistent Service Level Agreement. The solution was integrated, accredited and rolled out across all stores in 4 months. Axis and Ingenico help customers manage payment transactions from the POS to the transaction acquirer.

Diebold to Supply Caixa with 3800 ATMs

Diebold financial self-service won the bid to supply more than 3,800 ATMs to Caixa Economica Federal (CAIXA), for which it will supply, install and perform on-site field maintenance. More than 3,500 ATMs are full-function terminals, with an additional 285 terminals that feature a check sheet printing function. Security features include fingerprint biometrics; seismic sensors and systems that protect the keyboard, monitor and card reader; and anti-skimming technology.

Greater Transparency Needed in Credit Card Terms and Conditions

Consumer understanding of UK credit card terms and conditions is in need of improvement, according to research published by the Auriemma Consulting Group (ACG). ACG’s Industry Satisfaction Index (ISI) measures customer satisfaction with credit cards, and rated 61.6 points out of 100 in Q4 2011, with consumer understanding of terms and conditions heavily weighing down the index. Consumers were asked to rate statements about credit cards in terms of how strongly they agreed. Responses shown are weighted on a 25 point scale, and summed to a total possible index score of 100.

MasterCard Opens East African Regional Headquarters

MasterCard Worldwide launched its official East African regional headquarters, bringing the number of MasterCard offices across the African continent to five. The new office will act as MasterCard’s liaison office for customer banks, business associates and consumers in its main markets as well as across the rest of the East African region. This will include a significant emphasis in the areas of card knowledge and skills development, advising on development of card acceptance infrastructure, new products, and developing partnerships with ‘technology enablers,’ as well as retailer education and best acceptance practice. MasterCard has already been active in the Kenyan market working with banks and other business organizations to advise on developing payment solutions.

Green Bay Packers Agree to Roll-Out NCR Technology

NCR Corporation has forged agreements with the Green Bay Packers, for which it will implement the “Quest” venue management solution at Lambeau Field. This will let the Packers increase speed of service and sales per guest throughout the historic venue through credit card programs and other system features. In addition, the system will improve efficiencies across foodservice and retail operations by using a common platform and building a foundation to better manage gift card and loyalty programs for season ticket holders. Approximately 425 wired, wireless and touchscreen point-of-sale terminals are expected to be installed throughout the stadium by the 2012-2013 season.
