Chase Card Services launched the Chase “Sapphire” 2012 Ski Experience Program at Stowe Mountain Lodge in Stowe, VT, on January 13, featuring U.S. Ski champion Picabo Street. Through Chase Ultimate Rewards, Chase Sapphire cardmembers can redeem points for weekend packages that include three nights of luxury accommodations, ski clinics and a dinner reception with Street and a two-day lift ticket. The two-person packages also features airport transportation to and from the resort, feature custom ski and boot fittings, and a wine pairing dinner with journalist and sommelier Anthony Giglio. Cardmembers also have the choice between a spa treatment and other mountain activities such as snowshoeing, snowmobiling and hot air balloon rides.

Text2Pay Promotes mPayments Wizard

Merchants will instantly be able to use the Text2Pay mpayment service to bill their customers for virtual goods and online content. Merchants are first asked to ‘Add a New Brand’ of the product or service and the credit title of the virtual goods or currency they are selling. They then define how the product will be sold as they ‘Create a Campaign’. Merchants can then decide on the type of purchase, the brands involved, the countries they want to sell their product in and how much they want to charge for their product or service. Finally merchants are asked to ‘Customize and Integrate’ their payment widget.

MasterCard Appoints VocaLink Exec to President

MasterCard has hired former VocaLink chief executive Marion King president of its UK and Ireland business. She will focus on “creating a cashless society in the UK” contactless and mobile payment. King left VocaLink late last year having steered the company from its previous incarnation as bank-owned back office clearing operation Bacs, through to its merger with the Link Interchange network in 2007. At VocaLink she introduced the ACH “Faster Payments” program for the UK banking industry.

HSBC Merchant Services Expands Online Payment

HSBC Merchant Services launched its “Global Iris” online payment solution. Combining virtual payments with hosted and non-hosted payment pages, which merchants can select individually or as a suite, it gives them greater flexibility. The product has been launched in co-operation with Realex Payments. The virtual terminal allows a merchant to process an online transaction without having to see the customer’s card, for which details are taken over the phone. The merchant then inputs them securely and directly into the virtual online terminal. Also offered is a ‘Remote’ option, which allows the merchant to include an integrated payment page within their own website.
